About the Photographer
 Al Hyams is an outdoor enthusiast who
for many years has enjoyed roaming "the back 40" of Northern Michigan to
observe and record images pleasing to the eye. Years ago his first camera was a Kodak
Bantam 828 that held an eight picture roll of film. This he carried while exploring
Michigan and Canada, while cycling through central Europe, and throughout his Alaskan
army service. Today, Al continues to ramble Northwest Michigan with his wife Gerry
and cameras in search of interesting photographs.
About the Photographs
"Captured Moments" places emphasis upon
photographing nature and outdoor activities in northwest lower Michigan in all four
seasons. All the images on this site were taken within a 50 mile radius of the photographer's
hometown of Frankfort, located on the Lake Michigan shore in Benzie County, Michigan.
Also worthy of mention – several of these images were taken in the scenic Sleeping
Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, which lies just north of Frankfort.
